A resort in the Rhodopes
Pamporovo lies at an altitude of 1,650 m, at the foot of Snezhanka peak (1,926 m), within the municipalities of Smolyan and Chepelare. The ski season runs from December to early April, and the resort also offers activities in summer.
The road from Sofia
The Trakia motorway leads towards Plovdiv, then road II-86 runs through Asenovgrad and Chepelare to the resort: about 225 km. Plovdiv Airport is about 80 km away.
A mountain road
On the road through the Rhodopes, all-wheel drive is welcome: the Macan GTS, the RS6 Performance and the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S have it. From 15 November to 1 March, winter tyres or tyres with a tread depth of at least 4 mm are mandatory.
